I listen to this mighty song from the Temptations, and when I listen to Melvin Franklin singing "Power", it comes to my mind the power plants. MOTOWN 4 EVER!

This was one of my favorite songs back in the day.. My uncle was and still is a Temptation fan. He had this album and I would sneek in his room when he left to go bowling and play it like I had an audience....I knew it word for word ;) Get it Temps, POWER

These words are as dead on today as they were when it was first cut!!! "All you poor, all you needy, all you're doing is giving to the greedy!"

To: ddland45 My original post was in response to a specific comment from another person. That post no longer exists; but, I received a kind response. No malice intended. The only reason I pointed you to research on the Bible is because you made an inaccurate claim as to its origin and purpose. Please consider YOUR purpose and why we are all here. Those ARE important questions. "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)" -Ephesians 2:5

Whatever gets you through the day, "friend". Your words in your original post don't seem to match this "love thy neighbor..." mantra. I don't need to research the books that make up the bible to know what it is, or what it is not. As I said, it doesn't matter to me what you believe personally...

My friend, my faith in Christ Jesus as my Lord and Savior does not 'mask' my political or social views (I pray for leaders according to Romans 13). Rather - it 'shapes' them. His word, which you have asked me not to quote says, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Mark 12:28-31). I live by that. You can visit IRC dot ORG and search 'manuscripts' to learn about the authenticity of the Bible as God's Word. Praying that the Lord opens His Word to you.

"Why should we even care..."??? Because by chance or not, we're here, even for the FINITE time we're here, we have to live together. Why not make the best of it? And please don't quote scripture to me. I have no "faith" in a book that is clearly NOT the word of "God", but a compilation of many anecdotes and parables older than the religion from civilizations older than the religion. My point is that I don't care what you believe. Don't use religion to mask your political ideology. Dig?

Much of what you say makes sense and I do the things you mentioned. However, I am a little disturbed that you mention 'imaginary deities'. I hope you don't think that our existence is mere chance. Otherwise, why should we even care about anything or anyone? My faith is quite real and tells me that "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." -Hebrews 11:3
