The term "BARE BACK" was not even used as a sexual term in 1978. That became much more of a mainstream sexually oriented term after the advent of HIV/AIDS became more prominent in the 80s. Prior to the 60s, the word funk or funk meant bad smelling. Now it is a style of music.Punk used to mean an effeminate male... Style of music or when you trick someone.Trick used to mean when you fool someone. Now: a sexual hook up!The English language is constantly evolving depending on society and what is happening..We now use it as that type of term, but in 1978, it was not used in reference to sex.

Parents can no longer complain to kids that the songs they listen to today do not promote sex. This song came out right when HIV and AIDS could have been maintained and reduced. Dope song though. It seems like a song that's not even real.
