First time I heard this, I didn't like it much... too different from the sound on The Wild Hunt, which is one of my favorite CDs to come out in the last 10 years. This was just too smooth compared to The Wild Hunt. But then on about the fourth or fifth listen, it happened... this song gave me the shivers. Hair on my forearms standing on end. I just ordered "Dark Bird is Home" and can't wait for it to get here.

We were travellers, so blindWent to where the world did endRead of deaths in waves and outSo this is when we walked awayAnd the sadness I supposeGonna hold me to the groundWhere I'm forced to find the stillIn a place you won't be 'roundWas I ever part of knowingWith your hands in mineLittle screams into the wonderAnd a wild set of rides

still not sure about this sound, but I'm glad he is evolving. tbh, I would have been a little bit disappointed if he'd have kept on releasing more regular (yet amazing) acoustic-and-voice songs. I think he is more talented than that, and this song kind of insinuates it.

"Sagres" is a portuguese beer. What's the meaning in this song?

I saw him last night in Boston. This song is a highlight but the whole show is magnificent. Incredible band, great arrangements, gigantic energy.

Am slowly putting my finger on this. This song is a mixture of TME and a few Springsteen songs back when he was legit (The River and My Hometown most prominently). I wonder what Bruce would think of this. His influence is quite palpable. PS I love the song.

This is a breakthrough song. TME has taken a giant leap in a new but authentic direction. I don't know if the rest of the album sounds like this or will measure up to the quality of this track, but I certainly hope so. This new vein is a rich one and will hopefully be fully explored before he moves on to the next.

"Drink until I sleep"...I don't particularly care for alcohol but clandestine subterranean based landlords hack (via synthetic telepathic/neuro-impulse weapons) me incessantly. You see, in Grants Pass, OR there is a huge base underground and in order to be "unclipped and unpinned" (eye clipped is when they place bio-neural intra-ocular tech behind the eye and remotely view through you) and "pinned" is a neck bio-tech chip. And they terrorize your mind and body. Obama does nothing.

What do we think of the change? I really like it. I love that he can be so versatile and isn't afraid to venture out of the style of his previous albums. His voice always brings me back to why I love TMOE. I'd love to hear any thoughts.
