This was a great song. Boy you can really hear Flo and Mary in this song. That's how it should of been in all their recordings. compare this song to MY WORLD IS EMPTY WITHOUT YOU, OR YOU CAN'T HURRY LOVE. You can barely hear them let alone make out what they are singing.

I've loved this song performed by The Supremes since the first time I heard it as a teen. Just found out that a crooner named Tony Martin, signed to Motown in the mid 60's, recorded this as "Ask Any Man" with a slightly altered lyric. (Set aside like a souvenir on a shelf!) I couldn't believe this song would ever be performed by a male, and after just listening to it, I still can't believe I actually heard that! Check this out for yourself.........

HDH sued Len Barry for pinching the tune for 1-2-3, and got equal composition billing

Great Supremes song!!...but the talky intro might have hurt its chances as a single, given the pace of hit radio at the time.

This song was the B-side to "Baby Love" which I have in my collection, but it was later covered by the late Tony Martin when it was retitled "Ask Any Man", and he nailed it right to the punch. Tony Martin was on the same label as the Supremes after he left RCA Victor until he ended up somewhere. Tony released a few singles for Motown until he left in the mid-60's. Motown was trying to capitalize the easy listening audience including Billy Eckstine since he joined the label in 1965.

we paint pictures of people when they pass away. they are fanciful and mostly ugly people (personalities) coming out of the word work. some even in the name of god. jeez. what a web we weave.

no, you have that the wrong way around...no-one would know Mary and Florence if it wasn't for Diana. People had forgotten Florence, or didn't even know who she was when she died. Oh, how a death can promote someone. Florence and Mary were not goping to mount to much without Diana. and people even talk the 70's supremes up way too much.they had no hits here in Australia. toured once in 73 or 74 and it flopped big time.

people recognised her talent but she was a moody thing! her talent was there and recognised. no-one, not even berry had a problem with her talent. that was unquestioned. man, how that whole bullshit story has evolved. we love her. she's dead. she did not have a hit single since 1967! she got what she deserved and freakin fluffed it! what a yarn we spin.

"Where Did Our Love Go" is probably their best album. Very hard to find a good copy of it. Most copies I've found have been played to death, just like my own! Love that version of this song ass well! You have a great ear!

I don't like how you guys are speaking so hatefully to each other over this- I mean, leave that shit to the U.S. Congress!!! What we can all agree to is- and especially us oldheads who witnessed their meteoric rise to stardom in the 1960's and their constant television appearances and all our stacks of Motown 45's and LP's- that we adored and cherished them greatly and that they are affixed to our memories and our souls forever. They are our icons and that special blend will live on always.
