they started in Adelaide as Hells Kitchen in the nineties, and the first LP was called Sumo. The follow up album was Jet Age, but both albums (to my knowledge) had different lead guitarists. The guitarist from the Jet Age album formed a band called The Androids and had a minor hit in Australia with 'Do it with Madonna' around 2003 or so?. I saw them at The Gladstone Hotel in Toowoomba with Webster and Automatic (see 'Five' great track). They are playing the Stone Music Festival in Sydney soon.

It's mostly because the Superjesus got really popular at the right time in Australian music where Alternative rock was always on the airwaves and a great Australian band could easily crack the mainstream. Plus there is just the whole way Sarah Mcleod carries herself. She is essentially the first lady of Australian rock these days so I would look to her duet with Angry Anderson on Rockwiz as just the perfect way to understand why she is popular.

EXCUSE ME big fans of this band, I'm considering doing a video review of this band. I've bought 'Jet Age' and really enjoy it. I have been very intrigued lately about them and wonder why they are so obscure, at least to Americans. Problem there is that I'm from America and know nothing about Aussie rock scenes or charts and such lol. Might as well ask, what makes this band significant? Any imported facts about them to suggest? I'd greatly appreciate it!
