The Superbs from Los Angeles made some of the great Soul records of the mid 60's. It's a shame most weren't heard East of the Colorado River, Except Pittsburgh. The Superbs were huge in the Burgh. Bobby Swain wrote most of the material, and Walter White and 'Punkin' Green sang the leads. Walter has one of the sweetest voices of the era, shame more people couldn't have heard him. Pookie loves these guys, and was priviledged to see them in one of their few East Coast shows. They were superb!!

Pghpookie.. ?? Are we talkin last name starts with a B.. ? From Springdale.. ?I'm thinkin it is.. What a riot and,, as I've read the comments ,, well ya have some Great TL Sounds on wax.. Probably coulda used summa yours at the after game dances.. Hey, did what I could with what I had.. It seems, more and more, as these years go by, it's apparant that the PGH sound is/was/and always will be incredibly unique. I loved it then and,, it was just unheard of Unreal to have Terry actually acknowledge me,, " My Buddy Bill in Houston " on any number of occations and requests during his show.. What an Incredibe individual that brought all of everything we could ever imagine to the Oldies and Music for Young Lovers..Kid Doo-Wap has HUGE shoes to fill.. And,, so far,, he sounds good...!!Rock on Pookie.. I'll ck ya out on Classmates.comTLSOUNDCO.com..... Forever...!!!!

So did ya listen to WZUM? If I remember, that's where Mad Mike used to do his show, which was GREAT. But the other DJs there were just as hot.
