I won $50.00 in a oldies trivia contest from this one..... everyone in the crowd kept guessing it was Jan & Dean or the Beach Boys. Having this in my record collection gave me the edge.

Another song that George "The Plagiarist" Harrison ripped off.

I've always dug this tune, as well as their hit "Andrea". I have an album by the Sunrays ( did they have more than one?), and the guys are posed around a good looking girl, and.....this got by the censors, but the guitarist's left hand holding the neck of the guitar, is "flipping the bird". Uh-huh!

This was probably a Southern California regional hit. Until the late 60's you heard different popular music on the West Coast (which then had a surf culture versus the East Coast. The lead singer, Rick Henn (drummer, long red hair), was in one of my classes at Santa Monica City College when this became a local hit.

I had never heard of this song or group until a few years ago when someone introduced me to it. I had later forgotten about it until recently. It was driving me nuts because I really wanted to hear it again, but I couldn't remember the name of the song or artist. All I remembered was that somewhere I had recorded this song , which sounded like early Beach Boys, on an audio cassette tape. If I found the tape then possibly I could find it on the net. I was thrilled when I finally found my tape and was able to locate it here. And now all I have to say is, thank you, thank you so much for this upload. Love it!

While Murry had been fired by Brian before "discovering" the Sunrays, there was no bad blood between bands. Singer/songwriter/drummer Rick Henn was also a friend of Carl's and they actually opened for the Beach Boys on occasion.

Isn;t this the band that Murray Wilson used to get even with The Beach boys...Bcause they fired him?

Chuck Berry committed Armed Robbery -- you know, where you point a gun at someone and threaten to KILL THEM if they don't give you money? -- no less than FOUR(4) TIMES in his pre-music career. He remained a career criminal, insisting on being paid in cash to evade taxes. He also plagarized songs himself ("Maybellene" being plagarized from "Ida Red"). He was a greasy, greedy little fuck, and I move that ALL his songs (assuming he ever really wrote an original one) be placed in the Public Domain, to do with as we please -- cover, parody, or just use for sitcom theme songs -- immediately.

CHARLES CARPENDER, YOU'RE NOT A MUSICIAN. IF YOU WERE, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT "OCTAVE MODIFICATION" IS A POINTLESS, IF NOT MEANINGLESS, TERM. YOU'RE JUST A LOUD-MOUTH TROLL WITH A BAD EAR FOR HARMONIES. THESE HARMONIES ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM "HERE COMES THE SUN". ALSO, IT'S VERY LIKELY HARRISON NEVER HEARD THIS GO-NOWHERE SINGLE IN HIS LIFE. So STFU.
