Rick and bruce were class but weller wanted change. A massive Jam fan myself and gutted when they split but u gotta admit weller went from strength to strength. This was his first big style council hit and it was amazing. Made many more, shout to the top long hot summer your the best thing, and then he recorded one of my fav tunes "a very deep sea " . But above all , i go back to his best single of all time and this included both rick on drums and bruce on bass, i give you " A TOWN CALLED MALICE " have it you Jam fans, u know im right. Stop apologising for the things youve never done, cos time is short and life is cruel but its up to us to change this town called !!!!!!!! FUCKING HAVE IT LOL. Weller is god

+ARFER Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler wouldn't have had any problems playing Style Council music. They were much more solid musicians than Weller. Listen to Jam records, and it's almost as if Weller was holding the other two back. Though he is a very good musician, Weller is more of a song writer and creative visionary than musician. Buckler and Foxton were the musicians in The Jam. Weller broke The Jam up for many reasons, but not because his Jam band mates weren't capable of doing music like this.

Love this band, one of my favs from the 80's.The band was mostly unknown in the USA.I did my part however. In 1986 i was working at a freaking Burger King and told a coworker who liked some of the bands I did to go buy My Ever Changing Moods (the us title of their album) and she loved it and told 3 of her drama club friends to go buy it too, which they did and also loved it. I did my part, I also had 2 of their live concerts on VHS that were amazing but have never been released on DVD

Great song, shame about the video (and their poor cold faces- they couldn't afford some warm coats?). Great haircut on Paul though.

Polydor must have been on the cheap when they made this video. A great song with a horrid video doing no justice to Paul and Co., standing outside in the windy biting raw cold of the UK!
