This was my favourite era for Paul Weller music. He had cut his teeth on the Jam and this superb blend of everything that is quintessentially English comes through track after track. The folksy rock style blended with jazz is softer on the ear but still powerful enough to make the point. (The anti-Thatcher tracks abound among Style Council numbers!). I just love it.12 years ago
