These young'uns kick out some serious jams! I love the early Yardbirds vibe and Mod image. Yeah, I've heard the whingin' & bitchin' 'bout "They aren't original" or "they're copying the past". Too fuckin' roight, mate! Their energy, enthusiasm, and just flat out FUN approach to rock & roll has been sorely missed for the last 40 years. After all, the Stones, 'Birds, Beatles, and most of the British Invasion bands were just revvin' up, strippin' down, and feeding American blues, r&b, and rock & roll back to a mostly clueless American and informed European audiences. I don't know how these kids got their ability to channel the energy and attitudes of garage/Mod/Brit Invasion music, but I'm damned glad they have it. As for this old slickerbilly veteran of the '60s Detroit music scene & lifelong freak about "real" music of all kinds; I say the Strypes are the best damned band to stomp the planet! Now I know that Rock and Roll will never die! This is also the coolest music video I've seen since MTV was new. It definitely reminds me of early Yardbirds (with Jeff Beck) videos shown on various TV music shows in the '60s and has some great elements of the Hard Day's Night movie.
