Brian Setzer nació un 10 de Abril de 1959 en Nueva York, E.U. Escritor, compositor, músico, actor, intérprete, cantante, vocalista, líder y frontman de la banda de rockabilly The Stray Cats.En 1980, Setzer forma los Stray Cats, después de actuar desde Nueva York hasta Filadelfia, ese mismo año deciden ir a Londres donde pensaban que su música y su estilo iban a ser más apreciados. Tuvieron que vender sus instrumentos, en una tienda llamada "Sam Ash Music" en la calle 48, para poder comprar los tres boletos de avión.Los Stray Cats llamaron la atención del productor Dave Edmunds y sacaron varios singles que tuvieron éxito... para 1982 consiguieron fama en estados Unidos con el disco Built for Speed que incluía los singles "Rock This Town" y "Stray Cat Strut". El siguiente álbum Rant 'N Rave with The Stray Cats incluyó los singles "(She's) Sexy + 17" y "I Won't Stand in Your Way".Los Stray Cats se separaron en 1984... y 20 años después en el 2004 Brian Setzer se volvería a reunir junto con sus compañeros Slim Jim Phantom y Lee Rocker de los Stray Cats en una gira que les llevaría por toda Europa.En 1986, Setzer sacó su primer disco como solista, The Knife Feels Like Justice con este álbum se aleja del estilo rockabilly para caer en un sonido rockero más normal. A mediados de los 80's, Setzer fué guitarra solista en la gira de la banda de Robert Plant The Honeydrippers... en 1987, Setzer actuó como Eddie Cochran en la película que contaba la biografía de Ritchie Valens, La Bamba.Setzer formó The Brian Setzer Orchestra a mediados de los 90's, dicha banda era un retorno al swing y al jump blues y fue un proyecto muy ambicioso con una orquesta de 17 músicos que produjeron 4 álbumes de estudio, un disco de Navidad y varios en vivo entre 1994 y 2002. Su mayor éxito fue en 1998 con el lanzamiento de The Dirty Boogie, que se metió en el Top 10 de ventas de US y contenía el sencillo llamado "Jump Jive an'Wail".En el 2007, The Brian Setzer Orchestra publicó Wolfgang's Big Night Out que incluía piezas clásicas interpretadas por Setzer, con este disco Setzer consiguió su octava nominación a los Grammy. Setzer ha conseguido tres premios Grammy... Participó en el 2002 en un episodio de Los Simpsons y puso la voz a su personaje en el episodio Rock'n Roll Fantasy Camp.
