This is a complete reworking of the original song - I can't understand why so many people want the original line up singing the original set in the original way. May as well listen to the records... Not seen Hugh Cornwall live, but in a quick comparison of Stranglers V Cornwall bootleg vids, The Stranglers sound slick (allowing for poor sound quality on the vids) whereas a lot of HC's gigs seem pretty rough.

saw them again live, 1 week ago...they were amazing!! Baz, the singer-guitarist, is great...even he is trying to change the way he is singing,to look like Hugh, for the fans...i believe he is much better than Hugh...and Hugh left the band,with the reason,they have nothing else to give...and he was so wrong..last 2 albums were great,and stranglers on stage, are even better!!

It may or may not be. But thinking with a mindset from that time, synthesizers were not perfect replicators as they are now. I doubt a harpsichord could sound that good, but anyway...Yes! this song hits me like a brick.

ok, but the fact that you see it in the video does not mean they were usin' a harpsichord in the studio^^ who knows, little sense to argue about such a detail... the song's great, thats the main thing:)

harpsichord is an acoustic instrument bro. Bach made pieces for the instrument. And you can even see it in its glory in the original music video.

"unplugged" means originally "without a plug", so without technical changes in a studio or someth.... and only with acoustic instruments. I can't see it exactly, but I think they are playing a keyboard here... so its NOT unplugged. The original recorded version is also not unplugged, because the "harpsichord" is a keyboard, and there are some other electronic sounds that definately do not sound "acoustic" ^^
