I remember when this song came out, it was on WNBC or WABC , NYC, the Cousin Brucy Show. I was a 'baby' but knew music would save me, as the Velvet Underground nailed (Holly said when she was just 5 years old)

I dunno, bow wow cleaned up that guitar riff and had a 16 yr. old front girl singing. The Strangeloves never existed, the writers posed as an Aussie band and recorded the song.
