For a brief moment, these guys were the second coming of The Beatles, building on simple power pop chord structures, folk rock melodies, thoughtfully poetic lyrics, and charismatic presence. They lost three years of recording time fighting court battles, indulging in drugs, and succumbing to creative malaise. Their eponymous album should have ushered in a revolution, instead they petered out and with one half efforted spurt, conceived the stillborn Britpop movement.

Once upon a time in a hot summer night there i was, sitting in small lobby of a hostel doing my night shifts. And here comes this girl, this beautiful tall lean figure redhead*ish Irish girl with tiny fade in freckles upon her face wearing simple jeans and a white shirt that brights up her tanned soft skin that immediately gets my attention, even if she has another good looking friend by her side. She comes in close, She asks "And who are you?" while entering the patio near the entrance. I pause with hesitation and say: "Bond, James Bond" We both laugh while her friend bids farewell to us and goes to her bedroom while we are left alone. With nothing to do she sits besides me, kinda sleepy and brushing her teeth while she is at it, you know... getting ready to go to bed and all. We talk for a bit and a bit more and closure comes and there we were sitting for more than 3 hours together just talking and laughing. I learn she´s a dancer and a big music lover (i have a crush on girls who dance well), we talk about how we both like old black and white movies, old songs and specially musicals and all that jazz, it is then when she starts to sing very quietly the bit "Well, Did You Evah" of Frank Sinatra in High Society while we watch it on my lap stating it´s her favorite movie... ever. She was so exited doing so that she even stand up and started to dance for me. It was mesmerizing. We talked and talked and time flew by. It was amazing to see how much you can find about a person in a small space of hours. Next thing you know we started to share our taste in music and what we like to hear nowadays. She then gets up saying " YOU NEED to check out this bad..." : "What band?" i ask. "The Stone Roses!" i stop and wonder, never heard of this band before, so she then gives me this exactly song and link which is saved for latter to hear. She looks at the tiny clock on the bottom of the screen and gets up all of the sudden "SHIT! It´s so late, I got to get up early tomorrow, grrrr... dammit... i would stay a bit more and talk with you all night but i must go" she says with a melancholic voice as if she was going somewhere far away. On that note i understand. We wish each other farewell laughing about the fact how stupidly in common we had with one another and just like that she goes to sleep while i sit in my chair for the end of my shift watching movies with no attachments left and no regrets or thought about what just happen. She knew it and i knew it we would never see each other again. BUT even so, i am damn happy she introduced me to thing song and this bad. AND If by any chance... HEY LARA!

It sounds like a song that you'd sing to ask a girl out....but when you listen to the lyrics, it's not very romantic at all....I mean, it's about stoning a "badman" (a corrupt politician?)

Honestly, is Second Coming really THAT bad? I've heard a lot of bad stuff about Second Coming, and even though I haven't listened to it, it seems that Second Coming is nowhere NEAR as bad as people say it is.
