Proto-prog! Pretty ahead of it's time for '68, sounds like Floyd or some krautrock band.

Great stuff. Sailor also. Miller really loved blues, but knew he needed more upbeat pop to make some bread. Learned from his father's friend Les Paul. Key to the Highway on Brave New World also rocks!

I remember this entire album being played on San Francisco's KMPX-FM in 1968. I also recall the CHILDREN OF THE FUTURE record album. They psychedelic letterings were there, but the difference between yesterday's CHILDREN OF THE FUTURE Lp and todays is that in the original album, the band members looked angelic, with wings, and appeared to be floating atop the mentioned psychedelic clouds. The music is trip & and I liked it from the beginnig! Thank you for uploading. It takes me back in time

What is done is done what has past will stay in the past but as long as this music touches someone anyone's heart the time the place will fly free for a long long time. God Bless you all S.M.B.

Funny how even with today's endless possibilities with digital audio, nothing can match the wonderful sound of the Mellotron. Its charm was the uneven fluctuations which were not always intended, from voltage fluctuations and the limits of looped tapes. Once can tell a Mellotron sound from a synth any day. So much dreamier sound and warmer too...

could have beat PinkFloyd with this type of classic

Definitely Miller's best work. Pity he never followed up on it. The rest of his albums were a disappointment.

Somebody please post the rest of this album ! I hated to see SMB go commercial and always felt this was his best work. Sailor was OK and Anthology was the end of the good old Steve Miller sound. Not to say his commercial stuff is not talented, just not what I "tripped" on and not to forget "The Boz." Seagulls and ocean at the end, love those track blends. The first time I heard this album was at a house party summer of '68 through a pair of Altec Voice of the Theater speakers. Wow.

The best of Steve Miller before he went commercial. Melotron and all.
