This song is actually called "Less of Me". The Oak Ridge Boys also had a version of this song. Both groups did it well.

David Spegel: Johnny said they had been with him about 5 years. That would make this 1969, since according to the Statler song "We Got Paid by Cash" they started working for him "March of '64.""Less of Me" is a rare song written by Glen Campbell; "Try a Little Kindness" is a better known inspirational hit of his which many think he wrote, but he didn't write it. This one was not a big hit for Campbell. Love this version; I actually have it on an LP from about this same time.

What a great group. And a great song, too. The Statlers are my all-time favorite group. They look so young here, that I had trouble telling them apart.

I remember my great-grandmother singing the song while we hung sheets on the clothes line...that was the 70's .

Maybe you should be less mindful of their business and less sure about who is hell bound? The Mormons I have met live Christ's words everyday, maybe you could give it a try?

Let me be a little more specific. Mormons believe Joseph Smith is their prophet and the Jesus is secondary to Him. Jesus Christ is the messiah, LORD, Son of God...much more than a prophet and certainly not who they say He is. There is a curse on people who add or take away from the Bible. Joseph Smith is an addition to the Bible. The Bible is the final authoritive word of God. It's not really funny when you consider millions are going to hell for believing a lie.

That's funny because the mormons across the hall have a picture of Jesus in their kitchen.

They're Mormons. We're Mormons. Everyone's Mormons. Be very afraid.

no they are not mormons ...most of the Christian songs that these mormon commercials are coming on are born again Christians...NOT THE SAME! We're talking baptist or Pentecostal denominations...Mormon's believe in Joseph Smith not Jesus Christ!

Lyrics of Less Of Me (PART ONE) Written by Glen Campbell Let me be a little kinder Let me be a little blinder to the faults of those around me Let me praise a little more Let me be when I am weary just a little bit more cheery Think a little more of others and a little less of me Let me be a little braver when temptation bids me waver Let me strive a little harder to be all that I should be Let me be a little meeker with the brother who is weaker

Lyrics of Less Of Me (PART TWO) Written by Glen Campbell Think a little more of others and a little less of me Let me be when I am weary just a little bit more cheery Let me serve a little better those that I am striving for Let me be a little meeker with the brother who is weaker Think a little more of others and a little less of me Let me be a little meeker with the brother who is weaker Think a little more of others and a little less of me Less of me.

Why not? Everytime I hit YouTube, someone's a Mormon.

I love this song! Glen Campbell's original version of his composition was on his Burning Bridges album. He later recut it with Bobbie Gentry. The Statler Brothers' version of Less Of Me appeared on their Columbia album O Happy Day. That album is also known under the titles of How Great Thou Art and Country Gospel.
