The Vision of Lonely Nights Music Video

In this video I was aiming at capturing and digging deeper into the feeling of being lonely, in doing so, I used the concept "simplicity/ less is more" whilst shooting and editing the video. In that, I knew that there was something special that could be found.

Characters and story line: There are 3 characters who are played by Ntsika Fana Ngxanga, Buhlebendalo Mda and Luphindo Ngxanga. These characters portray a universal experience that resonates with a lot of people in the world. It tells the story of a painful experience that people feel when they have lost their soul mate and miss them in ways that they can not even understand. The video is aimed at capturing more of the 'feeling' rather than the 'thinking' response from the audiences- and expresses the intensity of loneliness and heart ache when missing a loved one.

Shooting and Editing: a lot of attention was payed to the small details of what was captured. And the choice of making the video black and white illuminates the feeling response and demonstrates how the world tends to be black and white when one is lonely.

Location: The video was shot in Cape Town at the Spier Hotel, purely for the silent, rich and calm atmosphere that it holds.

The video also followed the simple, basic and authentic feel of the song itself. Therefore the concept that "less is more" was properly executed in this video.
