For those with the ears and soul to hear it, this is a spiritually powerful shamanic work of magic....I am in awe.

This song is greatness right now, no matter who's playing with Billy.

This song is the first song in a very long time that actually makes me tear up, I'm taking about in general but the last pumpkins song that does this to me is "Once Upon A Time" off Adore because I also lost my mother 2 years before he did and I was still grieving at that point. But Drum + Fife...something in the chorus just gets me emotional and I really tear up. What I'm getting out of this is that it's harder than ever to be yourself and stand your ground with your beliefs because every asshole has something to say, and back in the day songs gave you that hope to push forward regardless. SP has always been that band for me. I became a fan in jr. high in 1991 (Yeah I'm 36) after seeing Siva on 120 minutes. I saved my lunch money and bought on tape at the music store at the mall. After listening to that album, I knew this band was going to always be important to me, and they have all they way through regardless of Billy drama, bandmates,Zwan etc...I know people dont like this album or whatever, and usually the ones who dont yearn for SD or MCIS part 2 who didnt live through that period themselves. I like that he pushes forward regardless and that's what and artist is supposed to do. Nostalgia is the death of an artist.

In support of the amount of music that the smashing pumpkins have put out in the last 7 years. Hell I'd do it.

If anything, i say that Billy is just writing too Much music. I feel like he's diluting the spark that we want from him by writing 50-100 songs every outing.Billy would be better releasing one potent group of songs every 3-5 years opposed to 300-500 songs over the course of a decade or more.

Sounds like a follow-up to his Zwan stuff -- which isn't a bad thing in my book. I liked that stuff a lot.

Oh my God! He's a musician not the "I didn't do it" kid! He's not gonna do the same over and over again with his music. I miss the 90's too but it's 2014!

All right... I've been listening to MTAE for 2 days, and here's what I think of it as a whole. IMO, it delivers the signature SP experimental tendencies that I have come to expect+love about it, and juxtaposing continuity of one song unto another(flow of each track to the next); every song is unique or appropriately differing from each, but if you weren't paying especial attention to song2song transition you wouldn't notice one track from next right away, as if it were one, very long song w/ 2 dozen changes: like MCIS, except w/ waay-many less tracks! That being said, I have constructive criticisms to note (*gasp!*); I do get a strife frustrated listening to it, b/c, where I've seen people say they think it sounds "forced", I actually feel it's the opposite; repressed. Like the intro to this vid called Angry Kid, and he's holding back a (feigned) tourrette's outburst. There's alot of underlying expression w/ in these songs, you can tell are there, but are concealed by the sheen of modern day, industrialist, music production. Please don't miscontrue what I said as being an indication of me thinking this album is an industrialist record, and no, it isn't here-by ruined for me either. I just think it surely would've been better had Billy + Jeff just did what felt right instictually as musicians playing music, rather than going w/ what is seemibly right production-wise, or unwise. Billy knows himself, and Jeff is a perfectly capable musician. I'm certain, certain(!), together they can come-up w/ something to satisfy whomever it is they're trying to sate, or just make a record they both can be proud to put their names on, b/c at the end of the day (or world even), that's what R-O-C-K is all about, bebe.

It seemed like he understood for a while that we didn't like Zeitgeist, and now it sounds like he's reverted back to that style of music. He had a good thing with Nicole singing backing vocals.

I have had this song on repeat since is was released. Great track. I love the pumpkins. Tommy Lee is my favorite drummer, so that just makes me want the album even more knowing that Tommy did all the drum tracks!!! The Release date is Tuesday!! I will definitely be buying this record!!

"I will bang Miss Drumm til my dying day"?? Who is Miss Drum? And is she even cool with this?? Cause Billy is kind of a creeper. :-)

"I will bang this drum to my dying day". An interesting aspect under the circumstance that Billy Corgan is able to make a Smashing Pumpkins-record without help of other musicians -except for the drums yet...Not only therefore my favorite track on the "Monuments to an Elegy"-album which is otherwise really well named "Elegy".
