I wonder if that was really the performance footage or might it have been rehearsal footage? It's interesting for someone like me who has watched SNL countless times, but has never been to a live taping, to see what all goes on behind the scenes. I like that kind of stuff. Good performance either way.

Hey was this the first of two songs that they played on SNL?? What was the other?

I like how he always adds different spins on the solos.

Wonderful ever building intro that eventually slams with a full and thick wall of guitar sounds. It just keeps getting better from there. 'Hipsters Unite' indeed.

Who ever thought it was a good idea for D'arcy to do backing vocals....she is so out of tune. Always.

WOW the bass is SO up front on this vid... and James' track is nowhere to be found... I know he's usually further back, but damn...

I prefer Billy with hair. This era is the true SP sound. Once all that hair is gone he just turned into a douche.

Great metaphor for music in the 90's: looked like shit but sounded incredible. Today: complete opposite.

Wow, was this just a soundcheck?

Guessing here (anyone know the real scoop?), rehearsal for their debut SNL gig?

I hate to say it because the music should be just the music but knowing that the band producing it had a really reserved and soft-spoken guy as a guitarist and a sexy woman bassist made some kind of difference in the perception of the whole concept. So far and different from the usual all-testosterone rock band. I loved them from the first moment.

great fucking music, but billy's just a straight up asshat, but hey we fucking enjoy it.
