First little girl sleep-over; we all danced to this in our shortie nightgowns, over and over and over...poor parents! In Fontana, CA. We called it "slow dancing"!

Unfortunately when Teresa Brewer of The McGuire Sisters stabbed a record they usually killed it

This is ONE song the Crew-Cuts or Diamonds couldn't cover (heh heh). Though I wouldnt be surprised if Teresa Brewer or the McGuire Sisters gave it a (ugh) stab!

While Sam Phillips did have a Flip record label, this Flip was an entirely different company, based in Los Angeles. Phillips started his label in early 1955, recording the songs that were put out on it at the Sun Studio in Memphis. He closed the label down when a lawsuit was threatened by Ed Wells, who owned Flip Records of Los Angeles. Wells sang in the Six Teens as the oldest member, did lead on their earliest songs.

I grew up listening all three speed formats, mostly in the doo wop and R&B style of music. There was something handling those records. Things seemed to be more valuable then. I've inherited some 78's from my grandmother.

One of the members of the Six Teens, Darryl "Cappy" Lewis, passed away on November 10, 2011. According to his wife, he made his transition, on November 10th (PM), peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Cappy was a great man who still sounded good on and off the stage. Singing was one of greatest passions. He was married to his high school sweetheart for 52 years.
