The Silence of a Whisper is one-man post-rock from Sweden. He sent me a link to his Bandcamp page, and I listened to everything he had up. Mind-blowing. If you liked this song, you can check out more on YouTube and Bandcamp.

Simply beautiful. Some other suggestions if you are not aware : Explosions in the Sky, Hammock, This Will Destroy You, The Cinematic Orchestra, Mono, and Sigur Ros.

i agree....hammock is softer for your ear while mono sounds a lil bit more rough...music depends on the soul who played and listened to it after all....

Indeed. Though I didn't say post-rock from Japan is bad, it's just my least favorite sound from the post-rock genre. I still listen to Mono when I'm in the mood. It just sounds too cloudy/staticky in my opinion. That is, after listening to full and clean sounds such as Hammock.

japan post rock isnt actually that bad...Mono is one of the oldest post rock band from japan and peoples like them...well its the matter of taste so its fine if you think that japanese post rock is the worst among other post rock... but it still better than justin bieber, nevertheless

I actually don't know how to explain it. There's just something different about the sound. Maybe it's just me?

Why are the ones from Japan the worst?

The best Post-Rock is from that area of the world. Sweden, some in Russia, France, Netherlands, such places. The worst I've heard is from Japan. Regardless of that, Post-Rock is like a gift from God. If you find the right band, it's just pure beauty. Like Hammock, Immanu El, Eluvim, etc. Beautiful music. For the soul.
