The first Shells record, Johnson 104 - Baby, Oh Baby/What's In An Angel Eyes (or Angel Eyes) was recorded by Nate Bouknight and four unknown singers. When Johnson brought Nate back in to record again the original group couldn't be found and never came back after Baby, Oh Baby became a hit. Bobby Nurse, Randy Alston, Gus Jeter & Danny Small were brought in and remained the Shells throughout the 1960's. dennis@ultimatevocalgroup dot/com

NOT Nate! Probably Bobby Nurse. There were 5 combinations known as the Shells related to the original group with Nate Bouknight. Nate was only in 2 of them. Bobby Nurse, Randy Alston, Gus Jeter & Danny Small were with Nate in the second group. Roy Jones lead these four in group #3, Clayton Bracey lead them in group #4 and these four alone were group #5 who recorded this song. See my comment on Baby Oh Baby.
