ROAD RUNNER

(Ellas Otha Bates aka Ellas McDaniel, known by his stage name Bo Diddley)

Well I'm a roadrunner, honey

Well I'm a roadrunner, honey

I bet you can't keep up with me

Well I'm a roadrunner, man

I bet you can't keep up with me

Ah, you'll never gonna catch me baby

Baby, baby, you will see

Well I'm a roadrunner man

And I'm gonna keep ahead of you

Well I'm a roadrunner man

And I'm gonna keep ahead of you

Ah, you'll never gonna catch me baby

Doing the things that you do

Ah, here it comes now

Watch me!

Take my hand baby

Gonna show you,

I'm a roadrunning man

I'm gonna show you something

I'm the fastest still alive

Now lean you back

Hear I come

Well I'm a roadrunner, honey

I bet you can't keep up with me

Well I'm a roadrunner, man

And I bet you can't keep up with me

Well you'll never gonna catch me baby

Baby, baby, you will see

Well I'm a roadrunner, honey

I'm gonna keep ahead of you

Yeah I'm a roadrunner, honey

I'm gonna keep ahead of you

You'll never gonna catch me baby

Doing the things that you do

Here, take my hand baby

Didn't think you fast, make it last.

I'm going to put you down

Yeah! I'll see you someday,

Someday baby hanging 'round

Nothing better. I saw them exactly like this. Young people don't know how loud this would have been and you couldn't guess even from the enhanced sound. Nor would they understand how new it was. It was deadly, sinister, raw and electric. Nothing better. Look at the genuine insouciance of e.g. Bill Wyman. They all know exactly what they are doing. We'd not heard proper electric blues before.

The Stones'quality control was very strict indeed, considering this and other just as good "Early Sessions" never got an official release.I was stunned when I discovered these high quality bootlegs on Soulseek some years ago.So much more goodies to get from there.

no, I just tried to explain this: this song is a welll known song for many years on bootlegs. And bootlegs will never be on any sales campaigns. Bootlegs usually contain songs that are rejected by the band or by the producers. But, as on "Grrr", some bootlegs are that well known and appreciated, that they eventually tun up on official records. Are you wiser now?

I have no bootlegs; I haven't seen anything from any sales campaigns with this; and, I live in the US and have only seen BBC on YouTube. Are you being a wise-ass?

well, maybe some future "grrr" will have it included, just like they did on the present "grrr" with the four stereo live bbc songs that were on bootlegs for ages already

I 'vaguely' remember hearing this once on YouTube a few years ago. Wonder why it was never placed on an album!? Thank you for posting! :)
