This song reminds me of thos old romantic trick i used to do, and i even pulled it off on my wife when i proposed to her. You see, It would start with not swallowing any of my saliva for as long as possible. Over time a very disgusting amount of spit can gather in your mouth, i would wait untill my mouth was practically full with it. Then i would romantically lean in for a kiss towards my partner. However, upon locking lips, i forcefully grab my partners face, and affirmatively transfer the grotesque amount of saliva that is unknowingly in my mouth straight into my partners mouth, while maintaining instense eye contact and gaze. It is the most amazingly romantic experience a human being can take part in

I suppose this was the song that went to the billboard charts at 1963! Amazing!

Before the kinder/gentler middle school came along, there was the Hell of junior high. The plot line of this song epitomizes it.

About 10 years ago, the late Davy Jones (of the Monkees) was a radio guest on WCBS-FM in NYC. At the end of the interview he was asked if they could play a record for him. He chose this song.

My mom had this on a 45, and I played it to death when I was a little girl. Thanks for posting this!

"Killer Joe" was written by Bert Russell and Bob Elgin in 1963. The song was inspired by famed dance instructor and "King of the Discotheque," Killer Joe Piro

I agree - must be written with Killer Joe Pero in mind. Would love to have seen him in action.

Do you happen to know if Bert wrote this with Killer Joe Piro in mind, Mike?

hookalakah

He had a bunch of 'em. "Russell Byrd" was another one; he cut "Hitch Hike Time" for Sue Records under that one.
