The Real Mckenzies - Ye Banks and Braes

Ye banks and braes of bonnie doon,

How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair

How can ye chant ye tiny wee birds

And i sae weary and nae full o' care

Ye break me heart; ye birds that sing

That warble through the flowery thorn

Ye remind me of a departed joy

Departed forever tae never return

I've often roamed by bonnie doon

To walk by the ocean, the wind and the sky

And like the birdees that sing o' their love,

Sae fondly say did i of mine

With lightsome heart i spied a rose

So sweet and aglow on thorny tree

And my false love did steal that rose

And all she left me was but a thorn

Scotland was named after the word Scoti, which was a term the romans used for '' pirate '' as the gaels where raiders from the sea :)

You are totally wrong, your belief is that scotland did not exist before the '' Gaels '' arrived in scotland, they actually believed that scotland got its name from an egyptian queen called scotia, but from what the declaration of arbroath states, Scots are a lost tribe of isreal, we come from a land called scythia, the gaels sailed to these islands and settled in northern ireland and the scottish hebrides, but people settled scotland 12000 BC, ireland was settled by scots in 7000 BC fact

What ever everyone is telling you, they are very very wrong, mythology also states that we get the name scotia from an egyptian queen who visited us, truth me told, scotland was settled by hunter/gatherers in 12000BC and they settled into ireland 7000BC, the gaels are believed to have come from a place called scythia, they landed in northern ireland and the hebrides of scotland, so the language seperated into scots and irish gaelic, scotland has existed far longer than ireland, fact :)

Paul Mackenzie the singer was born in glasgow and moved to canada as a lad, as far as the rest of the band I have no clue as there isnt much said about them, but they might actually be from scotland themselves and not canadian scots too :)

My school's doing a play with a song to the tune of Ye Banks and Braes. I really hope it's this tune. Because this would be awesome.

it's to rock like, it's suppose to be the story of a man sad because his gf died and he does not understand why the flowers a growing, it's a sad poem, not some hard rock song

Who cares where they come from, if you have actually got off your arse, away from a computer and seen them live you would understand how good they actually are, dont knock it till you've seen it, they are well worth the experience. Loud, fast, punk, metal, traditional and above all just bloody good fun - and thats from an Englishman !!
