Every time I hear this song I think of some rare "auld" times of many years ago that I experienced. Along with some cousins, we played that game; Ring Around the Roses. What memories! and Paddy does a great job on this song. Thanks!

He says "I'll try and do it without an accent". Paddy has spent a lot of time in the US singing and the guys may have been kidding him about sounding like like a "Yank".

Paddy sang in the US for 30 + years. Many of us wish he would get over this retirement stuff and resume singing for all of us.

This is a great version, but my favorite is still by the band Colcannon, maybe because that is where I heard it first. You all should totally check them out. Thanks for posting this video. =)

Sounds better wtih Paddy singing it rather than Ronnies gravel coaked ass voice.

I discovered this song through this group, and loved it right away. The voices are one thing, but then there's the stringed instruments colouring the background... A beautifully nostalgic song. I sing this to my pupils when I study Irish culture in class.
