I wonder how much of this fancy movie flick is fact and how much is truth: For it is well known that after Emperor Mao ascended the Chinese throne and battled with the USA for sway over Korea the Americans took some interest in Vietnam and started to install their minions in the South; so it seems likely that their secret service lackeys would stage atrocities against the Vietnamese civilians population and lay the blame on the Vietnamese resistance and the US works often with false flags.

@sjgambrill Because it wasn't crap until they took the series in a whole other direction downhill in Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Anyhow, most every big name actor has blockbusters and then lesser known indie films to their credit--particularly before mainstream Hollywood catches wind of them.
