A great, but unkown Synthpop-Smasher from 1981, no idea, why this song didn't become a great hit, maybe too early, watch out for some more classic Synthpop from the 80's music on panorama80 Radio: http://www.laut.fm/panorama80 or http://www.facebook.com/panorama80

I think if you have Mechanical as a ringtone you'll never have to worry about not getting laid. Ever.

Time for a cool down, change of gears. Something lighter to work to.

Amazing, a song that was too Avant Garde for the 80's

One of the best pieces of music ever heard. Artists should make this kind of stuff again.

"they looked like goofballs" - lol... makes me imagine "Slam Bamboo" and "Option 30."

More like they were 'ripped off' by Coldplay's "Speed of Sound" - lol --- watch?v=0k_1kvDh2UA - and honestly if I was gunna make comparisons with The Quarks, I'd have gone more for Gary Numan. Totally got that "telling a story about a technological robotic dystopia" also really makes me think of Ghost in The Shell Standalone Complex.

Yes, it's good by 2013 standards, but not so good by 1981 standards. There was such a giant flood of amazing synth-pop + new wave bands during the 80s that talented bands like The Quarks got completely ignored. Another sad 80's fact is The Quarks looked like goof balls, not super handsome, and shallow record label execs wanted to promote pretty boy bands.
