Mel can go deeper than Nicole's, so idk what your talking about. Also, Mel can dance. The reason Nicole is the leader is because of her charisma, and leader attitude, and her worth ethic. It has nothing to do with her vocal range, or dancing, cause Mel just about matches her in that. But, sorry for the 7 month old reply, lol

spyco, maybe melody does have a more powerful voice, but her voice isn't lead singer-y material for the pussycat dolls. They need a voice that has very wide vocal range, that can be high and powerful AND deep, sultry and sexy. Mel's voice only has a high part of that. Also she can't dance and doesn't have as much experience. I'm not saying at all that she's not a godo singer, just not the type of voice they need. It's also too sharp and doesn't blend well (like carrie from girlicious show.)
