Saw the Tubes/Producers show back in the fall of 1983 in Nashville. Probably one of the top 3 shows I ever saw. These guys came out, put on a helluva show, then out came Fee Waybill and the boys, and my mind was blown the rest of the way out.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs. They've never been on iTunes, and I've never found their albums. Now, I've found this and some of their other songs, most of which I don't think I ever heard because they didn't get the recognition they deserved. This song is like audio espresso to me.

I got to see these guys and meet them, probably right around this time when they played a bar out on Long Island outside of New York City. Tuey's maybe, or was it US Blues? Not sure. Great live band and really nice guys, especially Wayne. Their performance just blew and my friends away.

Saw these guys in Austin,TX in 1983 and became an instant fan. They rocked the house with great musicianship, clean harmonies and really good songs like this power pop classic. A particular treat was watching Wayne Famous bounce and bob around the stage wearing that keyboard. His expressions and almost comic enthusiasm reminded me of Cheap Trick's Rick Nielsen. They were and still are awesome.

The keyboard player is trying to pull off a Ron Mael/Rick Neilson thing...not that that's a bad thing...

Wayne Famous is awesome. It's almost painful to see him lugging that keyboard around. I bet that thing weighed 80 lbs, more than half his body weight (in THOSE days). Love these guys. I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed that know every one of their songs by heart. WIth a little bit better management and luck they could have been huge.

Yeah it's almost frightening how badly the business end of things went for them. I believe you can still get the double CD of "The Producers" and "You Make the Heat" on Amazon. Not sure about "Run For Your Life". I think I still have the vinyl of that somewhere.

The keyboard player should have been an actor, he would make a great cyborg. BTW whats the deal with his facial expressions or better yet exactly what is his deal?

Looking forward to seeing the band this Friday night here in Madison, WI. New record (yes, I said 'record') coming out produced by Tab Benoit. Dig it :)
