No other group has captured the romantic, vocal artistry and harmony of The Platters. I have loved their music for more than 50 years. When I need a boost of encouragement, I play their songs and sing along. They still can take my heart in their hands and massage it. They teach us how to say the three little words with conviction and humility.Their wonderful songs simply make my life better.

Tony Williams of the Platters had a voice similar to the lead vocalist of the Ink Spots. They both had that romantic pitch that made the ladies swoon. Just love it.

My Prayer was, to my parents, their song. For some 40 years I just took it at face value that it was this version, by the Platters. A few years ago, after both had died, it dawned on me that it couldn't be based, simply, on their being in middle age when this came out. And doing a little research, abetted by youtube, the answer hit me - it had to be the version by the Ink Spots.
