This song is so beautiful and fit the film perfectly. Jason loved his dad so much and Luke loved his son so much yet they barely had any time together (due to an overzealous cop who clearly made a bad decision to kill Luke, and although it was a clean shooting even though the cop shot first, clearly the cop Avery never got over it and it haunted him forever and that's why he had that picture in his wallet. He wasn't a bad man because part of his decision to rat out the crooked cops came from his guilt over what he did to Luke and his family. Luke could have/should have surrendered and he probably would've been out in 15 years to ride bikes with his son. This is a very "real" film that tugs at the heart strings just as much as this music.

I feel this is a film that's very much about bonds and partnerships- and the devastation those bonds create when torn apart from each other. Even the cinematography, as well as the writing is perfectly in tune with the flow of bonds and division- I doubt it is coincidence that Luke slams into a concrete divider on his way out of the cemetery EXACTLY when we first switch over to Avery's narrative. Bravo to all involved in the film, harmonious soundtrack too.
