I saw them at a Buddy Deane Hop in Glen Rock,Pa. back in 63 at the town's community building. The girls were even kind enough to dance with myself and a few of my friends. I loved all the songs they recorded but had a particular liking for "Our Love"...was meant to be.

Interesting... I "wikied" the Pixies Three and found out you're right... I never knew they had a hit prior to 442 Glenwood Avenue which I absolutely love.

True. The Pixies Three, who did cut for the Chicago-based Mercury label, were from Hanover, PA -- not far from Cameo-Parkway in Philadelphia -- so it's quite possible that the same Philly session musicians who played on Cameo-Parkway tracks also backed The Pixies Three. Few session players are ever locked into a single label. They work from gig to gig for whomever hires them.

Not sure. The Pixes Three recorded for Mercury Records.

Sounds like the Cameo Parkway house band is backing the girls. Is it? The drum pattern is the most obvious tip-off (compare it to The Orlons' "South Street"). GREAT record by the much neglected and overlooked Pixies Three, who cut some of the best girl group records ever made.

@50Emerald I don't blame you. One of my very favorite girl groups too.

These honeys are *wonderful* -- I had the good fortune to grow up with their wonderful music -- doo-woppy, fun, energetic, sexy -- my favorite girl group...
