This is brilliant guitar playing-takes the blues style to a completely new level. inspirational. Love the way he weaves the tribute to Stevie into the performance. I'm sure Stevie would have loved this.

Hard to tell......is he using a thumb pick? If so, how in the hell can you strum with one

I've played guitar for about 40 years now . . .off and on. I've had people tell me they really like how I play. Mostly finger picking. Their comments are nice and appreciated, but I always tell them if they really want to hear the acoustic guitar played in an unbelievable way, then they need to look up Tommy Emmanuel on you tube and sit back and enjoy his performance. I'll never play like Tommy and that's okay. Deep down there's always a little jealousy amongst guitar players, artists and so on. That's good too because it really makes you appreciative of other peoples talents. I appreciate his talent so much that I would do a disservice to myself and the people who like guitar playing not to tell them about  this man. His passion is so immense and his drive so strong. How anyone could ever say anything bad about him is beyond my understanding. He's actually enjoying you enjoying him. That's a pro from top down and out of the top drawer. Enjoy mates!

This is just too incredible. The version from 1999 is good too but this is just next level. And he's 7 years older in this one! I saw him live in Boston in 2006, that was fantastic as well. What a good year for him. I just laugh out loud when he does those runs hahahahah he just did one. Jesus...

its not just that hes so fricken good and the sounds he can get outta it is stunning...its also the fact that he absolutely loves what he does, like look at how much he loves what he does, most guitarists dont have this level of connection with their music
