From the Only Ones classic album, "Remains," which came out in 1984, although they had broken up in 1982(and reformed in recent years). Remains is The Only Ones rarities album released in 1984. The album is largely made of demos recorded in 1975/6 and pre-dates the recording of their first single, 'Lovers of Today'. The Only Ones were such an underrated band. Peter Perrett was one of the best English songwriters/guitarists/singers to come out of the UK in during the 70s. A bit like the English Johnny Thunders(he appeared as a guest on Johnny Thunders first solo album, "So Alone"), right down to being a hardcore junkie. And like Johnny Thunders, Perrett and his band/bands never achieved the recognition they deserved at the time. Unlike, JT, however, Peter Perrett is still alive and well after long periods of being MIA. Long hiatuses in his music career have been ascribed to his enduring struggles with heroin and crack cocaine addiction.
