i think you need to cut them a tad of slack on that. they were mostly university student aged at this point, operating completely independently, trying to put together an anti-war song and ultimately clearly botched that rather important distinction. there's a baghdad version that utilizes the arabic theme more appropriately, though - actually created for the _first_ gulf war. regardless, you shouldn't be hating all the arabs, who didn't have much say in the iran-iraq conflict.11 years ago

To be fair, this song is more of a criticism on America's policies abroad than it is on Iran. It speaks of America's eagerness to involve itself in conflicts that it has no place being involved in while also throwing lives away on both sides for very little benefit.
