Track 2 of 12 from The Offspring's new album: Days Go By.

-----

Feel the way it grows

When the words have left a mark

With a promise of tomorrow

That tricks and leaves you in the dark

There's something in the air

And there's something rising up

Not one but a million

That have had enough

Hey you! No!

I'm not gonna go away

I've got something more to say

Kick and scream, it knocks you down

It knocks you down

Hey you! Go!

Underneath we'll tear you down

Secrets from the underground

Anger starts a fire

This is not an anthem

Or a threat in someone's name

But a promise that tomorrow

Will rock and burn if things don't change

There's something in the air

And there's something rising up

Not one but a million

That have had enough

Hey you! No!

I'm not gonna go away

I've got something more to say

Kick and scream, it knocks you down

It knocks you down

Hey you! Go!

Underneath we'll tear you down

Secrets from the underground

Anger starts a fire

Underneath we'll tear you down

Secrets from the underground

Hey you! No!

I'm not gonna go away

I've got something more to say

Kick and scream, it knocks you down

It knocks you down

Hey you! Go!

Underneath we'll tear you down

Secrets from the underground

Anger starts a fire

Hey you! Go!

Hey you! Go!

Secrets from the underground

Anger starts a fire

Look, for all of you who claim that this is not Punk Rock anymore, I agree; sadly as it is, let's just accept. But... Saying that this is not good music or whatever is being far too oldschool-hater fashioned; let's get real for a moment and analyze the facts. They are older and not-so-energetic anymore. And I'm not calling them old farts, It's just that being 40 years old is a lot different from being 20, and of course they can't pass on to the songs an energy they don't have anymore. As the cd's name itself says "Days go by", and people should follow them; a job, I must say, that The Offspring's integrants are doing splendidly well.I ask that you please do not write some offensive responses, and that you may forgive my bad english. =)

This song reminds me of District 13 from MockingJay.

you are bad fan if you don´t know that the offspring played this type of songs long before some Rise Against have appeared. offspring has its own characteristic and unmistakable sound, despite of that there is always someone saying they have been influenced by other bands. why this discussion does not run under songs of the other bands .. that doesn´t make any sense to me ..

Of course you can. But the greatest influence in this album had Offspring. I would rather say that bands had been influenced by Offspring. That being said i think that having been influenced by some band is a perfectly ok thing and it should happen always, because you can learn a lot like that. So there are no copy cats, just more good music :)

On this album they kept their core sound and feeling, but you ( with that I mean me) can sense other bands influence, such as Rise Against. I'm a fan of both bands.

This song ended up being my favorite on the album because it had all the elements I was hoping for out of this one rolled into one song. It showed some of their maturity they've developed over the years in writing songs, their diversity in not just going with one sound for each song, using actual movements throughout the song, and of course hard-hitting in your face guitar and lyrics that you can feel meant something when Dex wrote them. This song is just pure face-punching win.

This is their genuine sound, you can actually tell really easy. However, i do agree that bands are sounding same and all that good stuff you said. That being said, you cant actually accuse any of them, though you may say that they are sell outs or something, you need to understand that the music industry i changing all the time and if you wanna keep up you gotta change a bit, its not that simple everybody thinks. Its understandable to be disappointed but you gotta understand them

Before when I listened offspring, I knew it was them ..... now it just a flat group, doing the same music as 20000 other little generic group without any imagination and style. Im not english and i don't understant the lyric so maybe this album got better lyric but the music seem so insipid since Splinter album ....
