Every time I come back to this, it reminds me of seeing them live in the early 70's in a club in DT Boston, I believe it was Boylston street. I was a teenager, but a BIG teenager. Small club, opened my eyes to "live artists."

The ice cream truck in Brooklyn NYC would play this song in our neighborhood when I was 9 years old. WHAT...

The lead singer sounds just like Bobby Womack, same raspy soulful voice.....

What ever happened to the bands that performed their own music. This sampling shit is out of control. This music is everyone having a good time. I can understand that.

This is a Bobby Womack original, redone by The NewBirth. This track took over the DJ's track lists in The early 70's- I was young, too young for clubs but, I had the opportunity to tag along to house parties with my older cousins and can fondly remember the vibe in the room when this song came on... And - the break was later used in the 80's @ hip-hop parties throughout the Bronx "Baby, baby, baby" yeah- good times

I can't understand why Larry Dodson and the Mighty Bar-Kays did not do a version of this.
