This recording is fresh, free and from the heart. It explodes out of 1976 like an aural laser. Blondie's version is very competent and fun. I am really sorry for those who can't hear the difference.

I don't know Blondie's version.. I'm not familiar with it. But I can almost guarantee that I like this original better. Yep, I heard it on Electrick Children. A lot of people don't seem to know that this isn't the version played in the movie, it's a cover by Flowers Forever. I like that one but the original is my favorite. Why do people have to get angry when other people prefer covers or prefer originals? Let it be.

I prefer the Blondie version but kudos to the Nerves for writing it! I think The Nerves version needed another guitar IMHO though I still like it.My copy of the (Nerves) single is autographed by Paul Collins!

I don't think this version is neither better nor worse than Blondie's. I think The Nerves' version is more melancholic/sad, while Blondie's is more dancing, more angry.

Mr. Orange the Cat

the original sounds like the beatles in a way (style) and blondie made it pop/rock/new wave worthy :D love both versions

Even Blondie can't top perfection which is what this absolute little jewel is.

It's a great version okay. Blondie's version is not only sung a lot better of course, but also contains one of their blistering middle 8's, making it 20 seconds longer. This version is terrific, and of course original, but I have to say Blondie's version is far better overall, which is rare for a cover version.
