Maverick American producer Kim came to England in '66 to work and have a lark with a few UK bands.

Wolverhampton's N'Betweens met him and 'laid down some Fowley tracks'. None made it to vinyl, but luckily the session was taped.

Noddy and Kim here rip through Fowley's 'Ugly Girl'

What a wierd moment in time and a strange combination !! California maverick writer, producer, all round looney opportunist the late Kim Fowley sharing vocals with the young black country boys who would eventually become Slade. a chapter in Noddy Holders book tells of their encounter with the larger than life Fowley who struck gold in the mid seventies as the svengali/tyrant went on to launch all girl rockers the Runaways into orbit and back down again. In the biopic of the Runaways , Michael Shannon gave a striking performance as the ruthless but shrewd Fowley !!!

The Inbetweens eventually became Ambrose Slade then Slade, thanks to Chas Chandler of The Animals who became their manager.

This track was first released on a sampler album back in the 80's called '60's Backbeat', it also featured their version of Dave Dee's 'Hold Tight'.

Glad your head and ears likes it. The photos were found after a deep delve into google images, so I don't know their details

As a Slade fan since 71 I dreamed of ever hearing this stuff. Was the last foto of their time in the Bahamas Sid?

@baz4111 Don t hear you, you are saying Kim was a bad producer? He also produced You better run with the same supurb band and that might actually be one of the most profelic and interesting tracks of that whole era!
