Here is a great track by the Tobacco Road famed Nashville Teens. Not sure when this song was recorded as it appeared on a 1972 Nashville Teens album that had a mix of some of their early hits and stuff from 1972. It seems like a track that would be out of 1968, and I found this pic of them in the late 60's so I'm assuming its from that period. For being a sorta 2nd rate R&B band in the mid 60's, they really jumped into psychedelia.

This is a reply to Harmonicjello. Absolutely agree with everything you said to Psychedelic Guy. The Blues (not what they refer to as R & B today) are great and I would encourage anyone to have another listen. Like you, I saw both the Nashville Teens and Rolling Stones live. And like you I was highly impressed by the Nashville Teens but disappointed with the Rolling Stones. But then Ray Phillips has a much better voice than Mick Jagger's. There is not much justice in a world where the Rolling Stones have been so big for so long when the Nashville Teens have not received anything like their share of success or acclaim, especially since the Rolling Stones have barely released anything worth listening to since Brian Jones died. And yes, I have also spoken to Ray Phillips after shows and found him to be very approachable and down-to-earth. I even sang one of his own tunes to him ("I'm Coming Home") because it was one of my favourites of theirs and I wanted to know why they didn't play it at gigs. He said because apart from me, there was nobody else that remembered it! That made us both laugh, and we got on well together. But he has one of the best voices I've ever heard live. Beaten only by three other people I've heard live: Eric Burdon, Roger Daltrey and BB King.

@PsychedelicGuy Oh you should try to like the blues sounds. It was so refreshing in the sixties. The Nashville Teens were real people who would talk to their fans after shows, shows that were great by the way. The Stones, although professing to "doing their own thing", were prima donnas. Jones was approachable (despite all the bad reports of him) but Richards & Jagger were aloof tossers! They were chasing celebrity status & didn't care about the cost (ie Jones again). Nashville Teens rocked.
