The guitar during the credits sounds like Mole. I wish they did that during this session too.

It is about a Tasmanian tiger. The second and third are told from the perspective of a Dodo and a Panamanian gold frog, respectively, all being the last remnant of their species.

The first verse is about a tiger in a zoo, I think. But what are the other verses about?

I read this comment as "Imagine if God walked into church and saw this." Now THAT would be something.

My favorite version of this gorgeous, heart-breaking tune. The lyrics:The sun above me and a concrete floor belowScratch at the chain links maybe bare my teeth for showFed twice a day I don't go hungry anymoreFeel in my bones just what the future has in storeI pace in circles so the camera will seeLook hard at my stripes, there'll be no more after meLaze by the shoreline while the sailors disembarkScratch out a place to sit and rest down in the darkSmell something burning downwind just a little waysThey set up camp and sing and sweat and work for daysI have no fear of anyone I'm dumb and wild and freeI am a flightless bird and there'll be no more after meIn Costa Rica in a burrow undergroundClimb to the surface, blink my eyes and look aroundI'm all alone here as I try my tiny songClaim my place beneath the sky but i won't be here for longI sang all night the moon shone on me through the treesNo brothers left and there'll be no more after me

I love this song, one of my favorites from the The Life Of The World To Come. Yes I'm a mountain goats freak.

Had it not been for a dead tortoise, I would have never known this exists.

Fitting song to accompany the whale video. While it quotes the bible, it's not a religious song. In fact, the biblical aspect seems more accusatory to me... +annie bodnar, another to go with the bruce cockburn song.
