Der Sänger der ersten Punkband der Welt (für mich) ist letzten Monat gestorben... die Monks waren so unglaublich weit vor ihrer Zeit ( check out the rest of the videos) - man kann sehen, dass das deutsche Publikum 1966 nichts damit anfangen konnte... sehr geil. RIP Gary Burger

Some did, but it was only German fans. They were on the verge of an American record deal, but the label rejected it because it was "offensive." They would have just been treated as a novelty band here in the States. I can only imagine what an appearance at The Monterey Pop Festival would have done! But alas, it wasn't meant to be. Just like The Beach Boys releasing "Smile" that year.
