Holy Smokes! What a song!! This rare, acoustic version immediatley found it's way on my iPod. I'm surprised this isn't on the Headquarters sessions or any other deluxe edition. It definitely deserves exposure. Well done Nesmith!

When I got MISSING LINKS 2 all those years ago, this was the song that got me. It's the best song Mr. Nesmith ever wrote, and hearing it here in its original form is revelatory. Although "She takes time to stop and watch the pictures in her head" is quite the cool psychedelic line for its time, "She discovered three new ways she could help the dead" rivals Bob Dylan's lyrical beauty. Thank God Lady Matthew's no longer standing in the LUNCH line, though. I know even saints gotta eat, but...;D

Interesting that on the Live 1967 CD I can hear Mike playing the guitar for Sweet Young Thing exactly like the intro to this song, and even has lots of the same phrasing. Definately know who wrote it.
