One of the Monkees' best and yeah it is a crime that Nes never truly... to this day... got the credit that he was due. But hey, enjoy this! Thanks, Monkees, and thanks Mike!

I agree I have always been amazed how overlooked he's been The whole knock on the Monkees is an insult to any one who listens to them. Unlike most manufactured Bubblegum groups their albums always had deep cuts and the albums always had substance to them.Mikes was the integrity of the band no doubt. The Monkees are more Ricky Nelson than The Archies and I believe Ricky Nelson is in the RRHOF and they were closer to Pet Sounds than any of the Beatles stuff so F anybody that hates on The Monkees

I don't understand why you got so mad at Danlennon's comment. I was already well aware of what you said and my response to Dan's comment was "Yup" cause.... I knew what he meant... Relax!

It was a sin that Mike never got the recognition he really deserved. It's a sin that he still doesn't get the recognition he deserves. It's unforgivable that that he was deliberately held back and not allowed to do what he was more than capable of doing. The man was a genius. A misundrstood one at that, but then most are.

The album cover in no way warned that this was a "fake" in any way!!!! What its says, verbatim, is: "Editor's Note on 'Magnolia Simms': Warning! Your instrument has not stripped a gear. The 'surface noise' and skipping effect are 'built in' to more realistically capture the 1920-30 yippies." NOWHERE is the word "fake" used, anywhere!!!! This has always been my favorite of all of Mike's many great songs.. THANKS for posting it.. about TIME someone did!!! I have looked for it on YouTube before. .

Doesn't matter how many hundreds of times I've heard this Nesmith ditty, I crack up every time. His falsetto is hilarious (Intentionally so)!
