My little cousin had the biggest crush on Davy and kept asking why we never went to see him in concert. It was hard telling her why

The Monkees have also cheered me up on many occasions. When i was 12 my parents were having lots of problems and it was the Monkees who cheered me up as they have many times since. I find myself laughing at the show and singing their songs. I wish they could know how much they have meant to me. They have helped me through bouts of depression and loneliness. It is like having friends come over to cheer you up every time.

Love all the Monkees but Mike was my favorite with Peter second. Micky was the best singer n so funny. Saw clips of him on Circus Boy when he was 12 n Micky was freaking adorable. Rest in peace, Davy.

*The Monkees: Daydream Believer (1967)*The Monkees perform "Daydream Believer"in this feel-good 1967 song from the past; it was written by John C. Stewart of the Kingston Trio, and released by the pop group as a single on October 25, 1967. It was included on their 1968 album, *The Birds, The Bees & the Monkees.* I was not yet 10 but knew a good song when I heard it. *Daydream Believer*by John C. StewartOh, I could hide 'neath the wingsOf the bluebird as she sings. The six o'clock alarm would never ring. But it rings and I rise,Wipe the sleep out of my eyes.My shavin' razor's cold and it stings.Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.Oh, what can it mean.To a daydream believerAnd a homecoming queen. You once thought of meAs a white knight on a steed. Now you know how happy I can be.Oh, and our good times start and endWithout dollar one to spend. But how much, baby, do we really need.Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.Oh, what can it mean.To a daydream believerAnd a homecoming queen.Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.Oh, what can it mean.To a daydream believerAnd a homecoming queen.[Instrumental interlude]Cheer up, Sleepy Jean.Oh, what can it mean.To a daydream believerAnd a homecoming queen.[Repeat and fade]

I'm currently a temp worker at a job agency while I hunt for a permanent job but I received a call today from an employer with yet again another rejection after my interview and it really has crushed me a bit. This song and also the song 'Randy Scouse Git' currently hold the place of my #1 favourite Monkees song (I couldn't choose haha). Yeah 'Daydream Believer' is a bit of an obvious song but it honestly cheers me up no matter how bad I feel even if it only cheers me up a little bit it still works it's Monkee magic haha.

Here's a little known fun fact... Michael Nesmith's mother, Bette, was the inventor of Liquid Paper {white out}. He's the one playing guitar, wearing glasses. ; )
