Raul Malo's voice fits the other instruments that make up the Mavericks in the same way that Sinatra's vocals were tailored by the various world class bands that he used... they both are hand in glove beautiful... and rare.Listening to the radio these days is almost torture... band after band after band, singer after singer after singer... all scream "me too" "me too" "me too". It's not that the players can't play so much as it is they completely lack originality and clever arrangements. Millions can sing and play a guitar and only a handful are special.Try to find a recording of the Mavericks that doesn't sound fresh and tailored to perfection. You won't.
