song is definitely about building and burning bridges. this song is about life, about a man who's clearly cut alot of ties with friends, and perhaps failed relationships, but obviously made new ones, and "reminds us in all that he's learned, that we build and burn". friends come and go, just as good experiences and bad experiences, we build things up, only to have them burned down, but we keep building them again, knowing what we know, hoping they'll keep in tact, but lifes not like that.

Great to see someone like Dave succeed so well. From playing with other bands, and guitar teching for others, to becoming an amazing front man and performer. He's a great example for those who have aspirations and dreams. You put the time and dedication in, you'll get a whole hell of a lot back. Plus he is just a great guy in person.
