I have mentioned previously my predisposition to love sad Christmas music. This is a song that first came to my attention from one of patrons on a message board I used to admin, who introduced me to Nat King Cole's rendition. This version is a little slower, a little prettier, and somehow, a little sadder.I imagine that Nat's 1950's-era recording was inspired by the numerous children left fatherless by World War II and the Korean War; it is no less poignant when we think of those deprived of a parent by our numerous recent conflicts in the Middle East and Near East.#ChristmasMusic #IndieMusic 10 years ago
