Hallway of the Gods, 1997

She was so sad [she was so sad]

No word of comfort really registered [so sad]

No friendly hand could steady her [she was so sad]

There was no contact, no consideration

Penetration [she was so sad]

We stood there watching from our observation post

Now here's a finger, here's a little line

We'll take you in, we'll guide you home

Now here's a finger, here's a little line

We'll take you in, we'll guide you home

[So sad] With two enormous wings

She left us standing, reaching for a ghost

And on this melancholy night

There is a star that stands alone

Far beyond the constellations

Far removed from highest heaven

Cast aside, and still we only watch

But my oh my, she's beautiful tonight

She is so beautiful tonight

She is so beautiful tonight

She is so beautiful tonight.

@SweetSweetWaldo I don't really hear the similarity here, but check out "friend" by LPD, and "years ago" by Alice Cooper, now there's a similarity. At any rate both great songs!

@SweetSweetWaldo any similarity with Eric Clapton is unintentional (I don't really hear it fwiw), Nice to hear this track - brings back memories! Ex-LPD'er

I'm I the only one who hears the similarity to Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight"? Not big on Clapton myself, but I do like that song, and I can't help hearing great resemblances between the two songs whether coincidental or intentional.

LOVE THIS

This piece is such a beautiful song - Sterre is the name of Edwin's (the guitar player during the Hallway/Nemesis era) daughter - newly born at the time. The word is an obsolete Old English term used, for instance, by Chaucer meaning "A Star".

how i see this song is like you're lying on the bonnet of your car, alone or with a close person, and put the cd with this tune to your car cd player. somwhere where you can see the sky without city illumination and just enjoy watching stars, listening to this song...
